KTIV: Dave Dawson outlines next steps after primary win
SIOUX CITY (KTIV) — Democrat Dave Dawson, a former state representative, defeated two opponents in Tuesday’s primary and will face Republican Chris McGowan in November.
Dawson won with 39% of the vote, topping Stephanie Steiner and Ashley WolfTornabane. He says he’s built a reputation for working across the aisle to deliver results for constituents.
Looking ahead to November, Dawson says he plans to revisit all 36 counties in the district and hold public town halls to hear from voters of all political backgrounds.
“I’ll have public town hall meetings and engage with voters from all political stripes, whether they’re Democrats, Republicans or independents, because I think it’s important that if I’m elected to be their next congressperson, that I am somebody who shows up and listens to the concerns of the voters and wants to be a problem solver regardless of anybody’s party background,” Dawson said.
